Coming soon, on January 30th, will be the premiere of “Powięź” – the latest, fifth album in the POPSYSZE discography, and their third release in the Zoharum catalog. It features seven new tracks, expanding on a formula based on free experimentation with sound and structure, bringing out a personal, somewhat emotional, and at times quite surprising character. While composing subsequent tracks, the musicians eagerly explored genres rooted in the tradition of psychedelic electronica, in the spirit of krautrock, only to find an outlet for it in a post-rock space, suspended densely in the air. Here and there, the trio’s fascination with Afro beat and desert blues subtly emerges, resonating somewhat muffled and distorted from afar. A generous dose of electronica gives Popsysze’s album a new dimension, intensifying what was previously only subtly accentuated. The album will be released on CD by Zoharum, and on vinyl by Hidden Beauty Records.
