In almost two weeks, the premiere of Jarl’s new album. “Synapse Variation Report” is the successor to “Receptor Radiation” released at the end of last year. As the musician says about it, it is an attempt to develop the threads contained in the two previous materials. In this way, it is the closure of the trilogy, dedicated to the processes occurring in the human brain in different states. The titular synapses in the nervous system are structures that allow neurons (or nerve cells) to transmit an electrical or chemical signal to other neurons or to a target. Similarly to Jarl’s latest albums, the sound on the album is hypnotic, psychedelic, melodic, based on a sequencer, pulsations, equally repetitive and minimalist.
