Until the end of this year, “Światłowód”, a farewell album by ROD and its musicians, will be released. In addition to four premiere tracks performed by electro-folk band from Wejherowo, it features solo tracks by the each band members, produced during various sessions and in various configurations.
The songs that follow each other were composed by Hansollo (producer, previously responsible for electronics in the band), Loki (period instruments), and the new project RIP, co-created by Cichy (vocals, bass). Despite the album’s songs being recorded at different times, places, and using different working methods, they sound surprisingly cohesive. This is undoubtedly due to shared inspirations from pagan tradition, folklore, and the coldness of the north, which all band members acknowledge.
Although the musicians clearly declare that the release of “Światłowód” marks the closing of a chapter in ROD’s activity, it also serves as a kind of introduction to the work each member is currently pursuing, now working individually. In time, it may become an introduction to something new, as interesting and exciting as the current formula, known from earlier releases and the numerous concerts of this unique trio.
More details soon.
