Chwasty Polskie

HVAST was born out of time. Time to be utilized. Due to the forced suspension of the Warsaw-based band NVC due to life circumstances, in 2022 some of its musicians (Grzegorz Chudzik – bass, Michał Głowacki – electronics, computers, f/x, and Arek Lerch – drums) continued meeting in the rehearsal room. From loose jams, conversations, and ideas, the foundations of something new slowly emerged: themes, electronic noises, and percussive beats. After months of selection, improvisation, and playing with sounds, the outlines of compositions began to emerge, based on airy, electronic backdrops and a deeply trance-inspired rhythm section. The concept evolved into five tracks, which ultimately appeared on the album “Chwasty Polskie.” These long, illustrative meditations, sometimes hypnotizing, sometimes scattering, blended 80s synthetic sounds, experimental elements, and inviting rituals in their improvisational playfulness. Music born of time, begging the listener for… time, to immerse themselves in it, flow with the flow, and feel the omnipresent trance. Whether it’s entertainment or meditation, everyone will discover something for themselves.
