23 THREADS

23 THREADS

The beginnings of 23 THREADS date back to the mid-90s, when Marek X. Marchoff still lived in Ciechanów. It was then that he recorded the material “Magija” in the first line-up, which was published on CD-r by Perun Records. After this release, 23 Threads only played two concerts, only to suspend their activities later, and Marek took up his parent project Different State, with which he is active to this day.
After being persuaded by Maciej Mehring from Zoharum, he decided to bring 23 Threads back to life to play krautrock-macabre folk.
First, he started looking for a suitable singer. He met Ingrid Swen at a mutual friend’s store. Their paths crossed when Ingrid was also looking for musicians to collaborate with. Soon they started rehearsals, during which they found that they were missing a bassist. So they thought about Rafał Janus, with whom Marek had played before, in other projects.
In this line-up, the musicians began recording material that was included on the album ‘Conspicuous Unobstructed Path’ (published by Zoharum in 2015).
