Podoba mi się skromne podejście do wydawniczej formy Nashtur. Wszechobecna zgniła zieleń, jakiś cytat z Omara Chajjama, trzy krótkie tytuły kompozycji („Nox”, „Nox-Lunaris”, „Nox-Lux”), wreszcie prosta okładka z czaszką. Od strony muzycznej jest równie ascetycznie. Wydawca pisze coś o noir ambiencie, ale nie do końca przemawia do mnie ta etykietka. Z jednej strony dostajemy dźwiękową magmę rozpostartą na powtarzających się motywach, z drugiej zaś medytacyjny charakter wydawnictwa przenosi słuchacza w nieznane rejony. Ciekawym zabiegiem jest wyciszenie środkowej części płyty, przez co mamy wrażenie nerwowego uśpienia. Oczywiście jest mrok, który kroić można tasakiem, są też repetytywne do bólu motywy, które czasem wręcz irytują. Na Nashtur nie uświadczymy natomiast wielowymiarowych pejzaży, wulkanicznego żaru czy katedralnego pogłosu. W zamian dostajemy materiał oparty na prostych strukturach, przygaszony księżycowym światłem kontemplacyjny monolit, który najlepiej smakuje przy lampce wytrawnego wina.

This release is perhaps the first release from this obscure project whose almost no information is available. From the album’s liner notes this release „induces trance based on low-pitched, repetitive melodic phrases emerging from sonic magma” and, more precisely, is along the path of some minimalism based on the development of a fistful, even less, melodic cell so it’s something at the threshold between hypnosis and boredom.
The first track, „Nox”, is based upon slight modifications of simple melodic phrases so it’s more hypnotic than repetitive. „Nox-Lunaris”, instead, is a track from low pitched and barely audible frequencies which ebb on the two side of the audible spectrum. „Nox-Lux” closes this release with a crescendo of a melodic cell which slowly evolves.
An uneasy release to decipher as it’s as hypnotic as almost undeveloped as too relying in a form tied to a repetition sometimes too predictable to be effective. While fans of repetitive music could rather enjoy this music, the others could be disappointed.

Vital Weekly
All right, I never heard of (Karolina) Kallee & The Lunar Trio (I think), who recorded and mixed this at 'the last days of the south-west tower, at the land of Lost Continent, 2013-2015 e.v.’, where ever this might be found on a map. No clues otherwise to instruments and such like. I would believe there is a lot of electronics at work on this album, especially synthesizers, most likely some sort of modular system.
In 'Nox’ these play an ambient tune with slow envelopes and pretty much audible, but in 'Nox Lunaris’, it is very hard to hear anything at all, except a low end rumble, with very minimal to no development. It just bumps up every now and then just above the threshold of hearing. It is the longest piece out of the three presented. In 'Nox-Lux’, with one minute shorter than the previous we hear the first and second piece working along each other. It has that slow enveloping sound of the first piece but filtered to a radical low end but is altogether more audible than the 'Nox-Lunaris’ piece. I would think that as a piece of ambient music this is quite radical and different than what is more common in this scene. I like the fact that it sounds different but that in it self doesn’t bring us a great release, I was thinking. I thought it
could have a bit more variation in the sound material and ultimately the concept worked well but the execution failed a bit.

„(…) krążek to pierwszy pełnometrażowy album KALLEE & The Lunar Trio; jednak to nie pierwsza kolaboracja
projektu z Zoharum. Już w 2012 roku jeden z utworów KALLEE, ‘Sabbah & 23 Hashisheen’ znalazł się na
kompilacji ‘From Earth to Sirius’ wydanej przez nas jako dwupłytowy album, dedykowany R. A. Wilsonowi.
‘Nashtur’ to trzy kompozycje, o nieco somnambulicznym charakterze, utrzymane w stylistyce Noir Ambientu.
Tryptyk: Nox, Nox-Lunaris, Nox-Lux wprowadza w trans, oparty na niskich tonach oraz repetytywnych frazach
melodycznych, wyłaniających się z sonorycznej magmy, monolitycznej struktury albumu. Muzyka układa się tutaj
w taki sposób, jakby miała tworzyć ścieżkę dźwiękową, towarzyszącą podróży w głąb siebie, medytacji, czy
zawieszeniu między snem a jawą”.Pewnie, można skopiować tekst z prasówki i mocno wierzyć, że to recenzja. Tylko po co? Nie lepiej odpalić  album, posłuchać w skupieniu i spróbować napisać coś od siebie? Skromne minimum nawet, ale jednak? A że jest czego słuchać, choć Nushtur to tylko trzy indeksy, to nie ulega wątpliwości. Kallee i Lunar Trio może nie
napracowali się jakoś spektakularnie przy tym albumie, ale-ale… odwalili kawał niezłej roboty. Wspomniane trzy indeksy. Każdy poświęcony nocy. Mamy zatem zwykłą noc (numer jeden), noc księżycową (numer dwa) i noc, hm, jasną? A może już dzień? O to należałoby spytać Karolinę Keller, która stoi za projektem Kallee. O The Lunar Trio (Mariusz Nantur Doering?) tak naprawdę niewiele można powiedzieć, o całym projekcie w sumie też, ale-ale… czy to ważne? Istotne, że te trzy nagrania starczą na blisko trzy kwadranse psychodelicznych ambientów.Może nazwa noir ambient jest nietrafna, może wręcz przeciwnie, dla mnie to pełna klaustrofobii warstwa ciągnącej się muzycznej gumy, coś gęstego jak smoła, zwłaszcza jeśli weźmie się pod uwagę otwierający wydawnictwo „Nox”. Ciemna kompozycja, z zawiesinowymi synthami, które to unoszą się, to opadają, w niepokojącym za każdym razem stylu. do „Nox” nerwową i chaotyczną atmosferą zbliża się „Nox-Lux”, utwór
niemal metafizyczny, oparty na ponurych drone’ach w tle i nachodzących na nie powolnych i hipnotyzujących,
trudnych do zdefiniowania dźwiękach.Na pewno łatwiej jest ze spajającym oba nagrania „Nox-Lunaris”, drone’owej epopei, która porusza się na granicy ciszy, snu i jawy. Najdłuższy, bo niemal dwudziestominutowy kawałek jawi się jako wyciągnięty
przerywnik, chwila oddechu między otwierającą i zamykającą Nushtur kompozycją. Napisać, że niewiele się tu dzieje, to prawie nic nie napisać, ale poniekąd to jednak prawda. Spokojna zabawa z formą, próby dźwięków,raczej faza najgłębszego snu w najciemniejszej nocy niż moment zaśnięcia lub chwila przebudzenia. Kallee i The Lunar Trio stworzyli płytę. To zdanie może wydawać się nad wyraz durne i nic niemówiące, ale jednak oddaje bardzo dużo. To nie jest album kręcający, zatracający i zachęcający do wielokrotnych odtworzeń, ale jest na tyle ciekawy, że kilka razy można z nim obcować. Sam słucham go od kilku ładnych dni, za każdym razem dodaję kolejny plusik. Ale czy to wystarczy?

Obscure, puzzling and near-anonymous slab of “dark ambient” chill-mode minimal drone-a-thonnery from Poland…Nusthur (ZOHARUM ZOHAR 119-2) is credited to Kallee & The Lunar Trio, an extremely low profile act which seems to comprise Karolina Kallee and Mariusz Nantur Doering, the latter appearing here as Nantur. These two have appeared on the label before, on the 2-CD comp From Earth To Sirius released in 2011; since that comp was dedicated to the works of Robert Anton Wilson, our friends were clearly compelled to call their contribution ‘Sabbah & 23 Hashisheen’, adding to the weight of musical utterances inspired directly or indirectly by William Burroughs…this “old man of the mountain” stuff has clearly not outstayed its welcome…
Nusthur may be gunning for other fish, though. There’s a quote from Omar Khayyam inside the cover, something about sending the soul through the Invisible, and the cover motif of skulls and flowers is very far from being a Grateful Dead tribute. Kallee & The Lunar Trio want to induce “trance…meditation…a soundtrack accompanying the journey into yourself”, and are happy to be associated with sleep-walking as they make this trek into the subconscious. The first track ‘Nox’ is a horrible assemblage of drab, unappealing electronic drones, utterly shapeless; you may fare better, or worse, with ‘Nox-Lunaris’, over 19 minutes of barely-audible atmospheric effects, which might be mistaken for a thunderstorm in the far distance or a supernatural throb produced when the Northern Lights cross paths with a belt of UFOs. At least this overlong stretch of abstraction does manage to convey a “nocturnal” sensation, assuming that’s the point of including a reference to the moon in its title. I kind of get the meditational point, but ‘Nox-Lunaris’ is just too insubstantial to even make an impression.
On ‘Nox-Lux’, the musicians make some concessions to making themselves heard, and while the texture and surface of this 18-minute cut are hard to grasp (terms like quagmire, mud, swamp come to mind), at least the technique of irregularly-repeated patterns and loops starts to make some sense. Kallee & The Lunar Trio refuse any conventional manner of hypnotising the audience, and seem determined to get there in a very awkward, long-winded and unfriendly manner. The cabalistic rules governing this sect are impossible to fathom, and I’m not sure I even want to join. From 14th April 2016.

Dentro del ininteligible estilo que reina en el catálogo de Zoharum podemos encontrarnos todo tipo de música
experimental y drone exenta de melodías, portadora de grandes trazos cargados de abstracción. Kallee y The
Lunar Trio forjan un molde dentro de este esquema que supera con creces al de la mayoría de las propuestas
existentes. Su primer CD, “Nushtur”, destaca por su indefinición y su carácter contextual. Hablamos de
ambient meramente experimental que actúa a base de texturas rugosas extendidas en el tiempo, carentes de
dinamismo y altibajos. Decorados de fondo que intiman con la oscuridad, confeccionando un dark ambient
desecado por el tiempo y las circunstancias.
“Nushtur” contiene tres cortes de larga duración en los que sus dos compositores, Karolina Kallee y Nantur,
desarrollan un collage de sueños parcheados, teñidos por la incomprensión; sonidos que se encuentran cercanos
a la frontera que separa la música del sonido. Una colección de temas que incita a la reflexión y al trance.
Todos ellos presentan una palabra como denominador común: la noche. Y es queKallee & The Lunar Trio –
„Nushtur” “Nushtur” parece ideado para ser escuchado cuando el sol se despide del día, en el momento preciso
en el que la oscuridad despierta, arropado por la tranquilidad que incita el ocaso. Una colección de temas
que parece regirse por la indeterminación y la conceptualización más primitiva. Sonidos que nos incitan a
reflexionar sin necesidad de ofrecernos figuración alguna. Condimentos con los que se cocinan los sueños. Un
CD que no está hecho para todos los paladares, ya que en algún momento de su vida puede pecar de saturante,
algo diseñando para mentes acostumbradas al experimental más romo.
Un aspecto altamente atractivo de “Nushtur” es el elegante diseño de su portada: Un cráneo definido a base
de juegos de sombras se sitúa sobre unas ramas expuestas en juegos de simetría. Nos consigue acercar a la
idea que los artistas definen en sus creaciones: sonidos lóbregos y fríos que abrazan la muerte.
Zoharum nos informa que la tirada de “Nushtur” ha sido estrictamente limitada a trescientos ejemplares.
Aunque, desgraciadamente, este CD no ha contado con muy buena aceptación por causa de su elevado matiz
abstracto. No obstante, si lo tuyo es el dark ambient, “Nushtur” se presta como una gran oportunidad para
bucear en texturas abstrusas y desconcertantes que consiguen fundirse en los secretos de la noche.

The New Noise:
Delle persone dietro a questo progetto sappiamo poco o nulla: un’aura di mistero, forse funzionale alla loro produzione artistica, avvolge le loro gesta. Con la sigla Kallee & The Lunar Trio (Carolina Kaller e Mariusz Nantur Doering dovrebbero essere parte del progetto) compaiono già in una raccolta del 2011, edita sempre dai polacchi di Zoharum, in (buona) compagnia di gente come Rapoon ed Expo ’70: questo è il loro primo disco full length.
Nushtur, apprendo dopo qualche ricerca, è il nome dell’arnese utilizzato per incidere le capsule del papavero da oppio (raffigurate peraltro sull’elegante copertina verde): il riferimento agli oppiacei è ampiamente congruente con la materia contenuta in questo cd. L’album si compone di tre tracce giocate su sonorità ipnotiche e fluttuanti, pensate per accompagnare un viaggio tutto interiore. La prima, “Nox”, è la più breve e allo stesso tempo complessa del lotto, un intrico di suoni ondivaghi disposti in maniera apparentemente caotica; simile per sonorità è la terza, “Nox Lux”, notevolmente più scarna però, ipnotica e ridondante ai limiti dello sfinimento dei sensi. La traccia centrale, “Nox Lunaris”, è invece un esperimento di mimetismo sonoro, un ambient sottocutaneo, melassa di basse frequenze modulate in maniera aleatoria che, in alcuni punti, diventano sottofondo quasi indistinguibile se ascoltate attraverso le casse dello stereo (anche con i VU meter che implorano pietà). È questo un disco difficile da decodificare, duro da digerire nella sua estrema ripetitività, apprezzabile solo, forse, in chiave meditativa.

Ver Sacrum:
Nuova uscita in casa Zoharum: questa volta si tratta di un disco all’insegna dell’elettronica meditativa ovvero di Nashtur di Kalle & The Lunar Trio. Dico subito che e’ un album che verra’ apprezzato dai seguaci delle sonorita’ dark-ambient piu’ monolitiche e minimali. Nashtur e’ diviso in 3 composizioni intitolate “Nox, “Nox-Lunaris” e “Nox-Lux”. Nelle note interne di copertina viene riportata una citazione di Omar Khayyam che sottolinea ulteriormente la dimensione mistica e metafisica del lavoro. Le ambientazioni sono oscure e ripetitive, caratterizzate dall’uso di bordoni monolitici: una musica che mira a stendere il velo del sonno sulla mente dell’ascoltatore dischiudendo il velo di Maya della realta’. Quella che possiamo ascoltare in Nashtur e’ cosi’ pura Deep Music ovvero musica del profondo che crea una percezione “altra” mettendo in contatto con la propria interiorita’ nascosta sublimando il se’. Personalmente il primo disco in materia che ho ascoltato e’ stato il mitico “Affenstunde” dei Popol Vuh, opera che ha fatto scuola influenzando tutta l’elettronica meditativa successiva e la stessa new-age. Non si tratta di un tipo di ascolto da approcciare in maniera superficiale in caso contrario occore rivolgersi ad altri generi. Ma se amate certo dark-ambient magmatico e oscuro, per intenderci, quello di gruppi come i Cranioclast e i Maeror Tri qui troverete di sicuro pane per i vostri denti. In particolare la seconda traccia “Nox-Lunaris” vi trasportera’ in una realta’ dai contorni sfuocati e brumosi rilassando la vostra mente e curando la vostra anima in un continuo alternarsi di sogno e veglia. Inutile dire come la label polacca sia, in questo momento, uno dei punti di riferimento principali per che segue questo tipo di sonorita’. Il cd esce in un’edizione strettamente limitata a 300 copie in una bella edizione in 2-panel ecopak
